writing

When I explore a new idea, I write and edit over and over again as the words squirm all over the page. It sometimes can take 20 or more jabs with the editing fork before a piece finally stops moving and is ready to publish. I try to write in a personal voice, but always hope to touch something more universal within our shared human condition. I am a huge fan of being a human. Although none of us are immune to the heartache and seemingly endless obstacles on the paths of our lives, to me this human incarnation is a sacred undertaking. It can be challenging to reconcile such widespread human suffering and oppression with the depth of beauty available to be witnessed, but that global paradox is no different than that which can be found in the microcosm of own individual lives.
